There is something special about boys' and girls' riding toys in toddler years.   They are fun, inviting, action-packed and almost always available commercially.  No wonder it is easy to find them in some public lobbies and play area where children are lurking.  Kids just love to emulate what they see in the surroundings and want to simply ride like the way adults do in serious day to day living.  Riding toys have varieties, getting more sophisticated as time goes by.  A perfect example is a riding toy horse, which could be enjoyed by both boys and girls.  The idea of buying one is a part of family discussion and budget.

Have you ever thought of giving riding toy for girls as a birthday gift?  It may be quite expensive but a cool idea. Here are some things to consider before buying a riding toy:

1. Safety - check out guarantee of safety sealed in each package.  Although words may have assured safety, it is still important to see if the physical appearance is sound and sturdy.  Defects in the connections could be overlooked unless the riding toy came from a very reputable source.

2.  Weight of the Child – Usually, toys are specified for children at suitable age. No matter how durable a riding toy is, there comes a time that it will yield after subjected to wear and tear. Take note of the girl riding toys’ age limit of use, strictly abiding it for safety reasons. Watch out if the toy is used by another heavier kid. If the child riding it is too heavy, the depreciation of the item is also fast.

3.  Material – riding toys for boys and girls are made by any of the following common materials:  plastic, PVC, wood, mixed materials, and fiberglass.   The mechanisms that will make the riding toy movable are made possible by the combination of nuts, bolts, screws, nails and spring and steel plate connectors.  There is no definite direction to where the forces will cause tension to the riding toy.  The child will simply ride it with all might, without caution and will keep on going with full energy.   Given the options, what kind of material will be most preferable?

4.  Design – By just looking at the over-all appearance of the girl riding toy, most laymen can easily suspect future flaw that may arise after the toy has been used.  That is why given two competing brands side-by-side each other at a commercial lane, the difference can be easily seen and compared.  Riding toys can be designed for sophistication or simply for the functional purpose, but the most important thing is safety.  When buying, bring the child so she can try riding the toy and she can get the knack of its design and feel.  Riding toys must be comfortable and ergonomically fit to the child.

5. Maintenance – Riding toys may get soiled.  Make sure you are choosing a smooth texture that is easier to handle and maintain.  It has to be washable with soft bristled brush and a mild cleanser or detergent.  Budgeting can help a lot to achieve this.

6. Cost - Fancy boys' and girl's riding toys are not at all cheap.  Do not compromise the price with the durability of the product you are buying.  It is important to really consider safety first before aesthetics
